How your protection works
It goes somewhere safer. Here's exactly what happens to every payment you make — and why, in an uncertain world, booking with Planet means you always have complete security.
Every payment goes directly into a designated trust account — not to us. The account is independently managed for us by the Travel Trust Association (TTA), of which we have been a member since 2001.
Funds in the trust account can only be released to authorised suppliers, and are only fully accessible once you have completed your trip. Your money is ring-fenced from start to finish.
We are also ATOL bonded (licence T7314), so flight-inclusive packages carry the additional protection of the UK's ATOL scheme — the gold standard in air travel security.
Whatever you pay to us, and whatever happens in the world, your money is safe. One hundred percent financial protection, on every booking, always.
What that means in practice
Suppose you've booked your holiday and the hotel goes out of business before you travel. No problem — you're covered. We will either find you an equivalent alternative or you will be fully refunded.
If you've booked a flight-inclusive package and the flight operator fails, your ATOL protection kicks in: we will source alternative flights to get you there — or home — or you will receive a full refund.
